Dr. Nicholas Milton AM ist Künstlerischer Leiter und Chefdirigent des Göttinger Symphonieorchesters (2018–2027) sowie Chefdirigent und Künstlerischer Leiter des Willoughby Symphony Orchestra in Sydney. Er zählt zu den international erfolgreichsten australischen Dirigenten, ist bekannt für seine leidenschaftlichen, stilistisch nuancierten Interpretationen von Opern- und Konzertrepertoire und wurde 2025 für den Österreichischen Musiktheaterpreis in der Kategorie „Beste musikalische Leitung“ für seine Neuproduktion von Wagners Der Ring des Nibelungen als Chefdirigent des Stadttheaters Klagenfurt nominiert.

Austrian Music Theatre Prize 2025
Dr. Nicholas Milton has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 Austrian Music Theatre Prize in the category of Best Conductor. The nomination is in recognition of Milton’s musical direction of an acclaimed new production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the State Opera House in Klagenfurt.
